A shuttered Walmart Supercenter, at 7075 Farm-to-Market Road 1960, is being converted into a mixed-use project, which will offer industrial flex, retail and office space, along with a gym, an auto center and self-storage. Dubbed Megacenter Willowbrook, the 235,627-square-foot project in Houston’s northwest submarket is being developed by Megacenter of Florida.
The project’s first phase, already underway, will consist of a 113,940-square-foot gym, 47,319 square feet of flex space and a 6,810-square-foot auto center. Phases two and three will involve buildout of the self-storage and office spaces.
Megacenter is a subsidiary of Chile-based Red Megacentro, and Megacenter Willowbrook is the company’s fifth redevelopment project in the United States, the first in Texas. Slate Construction is the general contractor, and Edgecomb & Associates Inc. is the architect. HFF arranged for construction financing on the project.
