Four well-known developers have thrown their hats in the ring to be selected as the one to work on the Department of Labor’s new headquarters. Douglas Development Corp., Redbrick Ltd., the Ruben Cos. and Vornado Realty Trust submitted properties to be considered for the new headquarters, measuring up to 1.4 million square feet.
In the meantime, the General Services Administration is considering three sites for the development: NoMa (owned by Douglas Development), Capital Riverfront (Vornado Development), and Poplar Point (Redbrick’s site). The GSA will award a contract for site review as part of the National Environmental Policy Act, then determine whether to move further on the prospects.
