Sub Zero Ice Cream, headquartered in Provo, UT, wants to up its expansion throughout Texas over the next 10 years. Specifically, the company has targeted Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio to open at least 75 new franchised locations.
Sub Zero, which serves made-to-order, -321-degree treats, offers seven cream bases, including lactose-free, vegan and sugar-free options. Sub Zero also offers Italian ice, ice cream pies, shakes and smoothies – all using liquid nitrogen. Additionally, because each order is quickly frozen on the spot using the liquid nitrogen, there are no freezers in the location.
Sub Zero currently has operating outlets in the Houston and Beaumont, TX areas, as well as near Fort Worth. According to Sub Zero area developer Ally Lakhpaty, the Texas stores have been the top-performing ones in the system. The total franchise investment ranges from $176,000-$293,000.
