Friedman Opts for One Liberty Plaza in Move Downtown

Accounting firm Friedman LLP has made the move to Lower Manhattan, signing a full-floor lease for 44,767 square feet at Brookfield Properties’ One Liberty Plaza. NKF’s David Falk and Peter Shimkin represented Friedman in leasing negotiations.

“For over 50 years, Friedman was located in Midtown Manhattan,” said Shimkin. “What attracted them to Lower Manhattan was the 24/7 365-day community that the neighborhood has transformed into.”

The tenant was drawn to One Liberty Plaza in particular, he added, because “it’s the most conveniently-located Downtown building with direct access to the new Fulton Street Transit Center and World Trade Center Path Station, and is in proximity to some of the best dining and shopping options in the entire city.”

Brookfield was represented in-house by Mikael Nahmias, Jerry Larkin, David McBride and Justin Coulter. Friedman plans “a state-of-the art office that reflects our commitment to our people,” said the firm’s Harriet Greenberg.
