Frito-Lay Takes Plant Efficiency to New Heights

Frito-Lay is building a high-rise plant in Rancho Cucamonga on Archibald Ave. at Fourth St. Typically, industrial facilities are low-rise structures, but the snack food company is constructing a 92-foot tower addition at its 37-acre site.

The stacked warehouse configuration is said to be more efficient for distribution. Frito-Lay has occupied the site since 1970, where 480 workers produce more than 100 million pounds of snacks annually.

The tower’s framing is being constructed in eye-catching blue and red materials. The only taller structure in the city is Gerdau steel mill’s 100-foot blast furnace.
