Furniture Retailer Takes 415K-SF in Katy

Houston-based Bel Furniture plans to open a 415,296-square-foot showroom and distribution facility at West Ten Distribution Center in Katy, TX. The two-building speculative project, located on Interstate 10 at Cane Island Pkwy., includes a 74,793-square-foot showroom and an adjacent 340,503-square-foot distribution center.

The furniture retailer counts more than 350 employees, 15 locations and three distribution centers throughout Houston, Humble, Webster and Beaumont.

The west Houston facility was developed by Transwestern Development Co., which acquired 75 acres within the 450-acre business park in 2014. More than 42 acres of the original purchase are available for future development, build-to-suits or sale to end users.

Transwestern’s Brian Gammill represented the owner, a Transwestern Development Co. partnership. CBRE’s Billy Gold represented Bel Furniture.
