Georgetown Partners with Via for Service to Far West Side

The Georgetown Company and Via have partnered to provide tenants of Georgetown’s 787 Eleventh Ave. with ride-sharing between Manhattan transit hubs and the Far West Side office property through an app. It’s Via’s first commercial deal of its kind in New York City.

“Initial feedback from employees who’ve used the Via shuttle service has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Jonathan Schmerin, managing principal at Georgetown. “By using the tools available, we’ve been able to cut down commute times to the neighborhood from all over the city and prove that New York City is far more accessible than it’s ever been.”

Bethany Norvell, VP of human resources at 787 Eleventh tenant Pershing Square Capital Management, said the program has allayed employee concerns about commuting farther west, where the mass transit infrastructure lags development. “The Via program reduces commute times and makes getting to 787 Eleventh easy, efficient and comfortable,” she said.
