Connect Industrial is headed to Chicago, June 28th. Here’s where to get more details and register.
A 127-year-old Bay Area business is finalizing its relocation from a facility it has operated in Hayward, CA for more than 80 years, to a new a 38-acre headquarters location in Livermore, CA. Gillig, which manufactures buses, will celebrate the grand opening next month of its 600,000-square-foot facility at 451 Discovery Dr.
Located in Trammell Crow Company’s 168-acre Oaks Logistics Center, the Gillig site also includes a 50,000-square-foot fabrication and assembly building and a 27,000-square-foot final bus prep facility. Roughly 850 jobs will be coming to the new facility. Gillig, which produces 1,800 buses a year, is the last wholly-owned and built in America bus manufacturer.
Gillig joins Tesla, as well as a Wheels (Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority) bus maintenance facility, and Draexlmaier, a German vehicle parts company, at the business park.
