A $19 million construction project featuring a parking garage and retail space in downtown Amarillo, TX is on track, according to the city. Both are expected to deliver in March. When the exteriors are completed, work on the streetscape will commence.
The garage, adjacent to the new downtown Embassy Suites at 550 S. Buchanan St., will offer 750 parking spaces, with 150 reserved on the ground floor for valet parking. An additional 150 spots will be reserved for Potter County. The 24,000-square-foot retail space is designed as flex, depending on the interest of tenants.
The garage and retail space are part of the downtown Amarillo Catalyst project, which is seeking to redevelop the city’s downtown area to make it more attractive.
