SL Green Realty Corporation’s 420 Lexington Ave., commonly known as The Graybar Building, has won the BOMA International TOBY Award for Historical Building of the Year at the BOMA International Conference, the global association’s first-ever virtual awards ceremony. Considered one of New York’s first modern towers, the 34-story brick-and-limestone high-rise is home to some 260 tenants, including SL Green itself.
“SL Green is honored to be recognized by BOMA International TOBY Awards for our corporate headquarters, 420 Lexington Ave., in the Historical Building category,” said COO Edward V. Picinich. “The 1.5-million-square-foot Graybar Building is an engineering marvel and broke world records as the largest office building constructed back in the 1920s.”
The 2020 virtual competition featured 78 buildings from eight BOMA International regions. Each of these buildings first won a TOBY Award from its BOMA local association and then went on to compete and win at the regional level.
