H-E-B Acquires 26 Acres in Growth Market

H-E-B acquired 26 acres in western Bexar County, a San Antonio market primed for development growth. The San Antonio-based supermarket chain bought a pair of sites at Texas 211 and Potranco Road. The company isn’t disclosing plans for the land or what it paid for the property.

The area surrounding the property is experiencing significant residential growth. In the works are a dozen master-planned communities encompassing more than 27,000 homes, which could add 80,000 residents at full build-out.

Subsidiaries of Houston-based Weingarten Realty Investors sold the land, and still own roughly 141 acres along Potranco Road. Public records show the combined 167 acres was last appraised at $10.7 million.
