CBRE recently represented Hackman Capital in the sale of a 188,000-square-foot refrigerated distribution property at 4801 S. California Ave. in the West Side’s Archer Heights neighborhood. Pricing wasn’t disclosed.
Steve Livaditis and Pete Roberson with CBRE represented Hackman Capital in the sale. Cushman & Wakefield’s Matt Cowie advised the buyer, Best Foods. Best Foods, a mayonnaise and condiment provider, will occupy the space.
A former Budweiser distribution facility, the property offers strategic access to I-55 as well as BNSF railroad tracks, and can accommodate single or multiple industrial users for manufacturing, warehousing and distribution in Chicago. It’s one of the area’s few large-scale properties with clearance heights up to 26 feet, according to Hackman Capital.
“This is a tremendous site for city and market-wide food production and distribution, given its proximity to the CBD, access to transportation and population density,” said Livaditis.
