Hillwood, developer of the Fort Worth-based, 26,000-acre AllianceTexas development, is launching the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone. Focused on input from its anchor corporation, policymakers, regulators and academic institutions, among others, the Mobility Innovation Zone provides a location for development, testing and commercialization of mobility technology and business models.
Deloitte’s Future of Mobility Global Practice team has been tapped to develop the strategic direction, business model and operating platform for the zone. “AllianceTexas offers a unique platform to test and scale integrated mobility solutions – both on the surface and in the air,” said Deloitte’s Scott Corwin.
Two primary use cases are under development for the zone’s launch, including a surface freight mobility program for IoT-enabled shipping containers to move within the AllianceTexas platform via autonomous trucks, thus boosting supply efficiencies. The second use case establishes an aerial proving ground allowing testing of drone and VTOL applications.
