Edinburg, TX is preparing for not one, but two, Hilton hotels. The developments will be the first Hilton-branded hotels to be built in this Rio Grande Valley city. Though dirt work has begun on Trenton Road for the hotels, the names and number of rooms haven’t yet been released to the public.
Edinburg Mayor Richard Molina told the Rio Grande Guardian that the developers of the project (also unknown) are putting together a package “to show the economic impact of the entire development.” The entire development he referred to will include retail and restaurants. The hotels will be near the Bert Ogden Arena, as well as the Shoppes at Rio Grande Valley.
“This is big because it is our first Hilton family hotel to come into the city of Edinburg,” the mayor added. “There are other Hilton hotels in McAllen, but this is the first of its kind in the city of Edinburg.”
