Connect Houston is taking place on February 26, 2019. For more information — or to attend — click here.
The tallest rental residential tower in downtown will rise on land formerly occupied by a parking garage for the Houston Chronicle. Hines is developing the 46-story high-rise, dubbed The Preston, in partnership with Cresset Wealth Advisors and Levy Family Partners.
Designed by Munoz + Albin, The Preston’s diagonal positioning at the corner of Preston and Milam Street will provide panoramic views of the CBD, Market Square Park, Sesquicentennial Park and Buffalo Bayou, as well as long views to the Heights area and beyond. The tower neighbors Hines and Ivanhoe Cambridge’s one-million-square foot office tower, which is under construction at 800 Texas Avenue.
The Preston will offer 373 luxury residences, including 10 penthouse homes that will range from 1,739 to 2,927 square feet. Construction will commence March 2019, with completion slated for third quarter 2022.
“Over the past 10 years, downtown’s nucleus has shifted to the north, and Hines’ new office and residential developments have led the way…” said Hines’s Kevin Batchelor.
