Home sales growth in the San Antonio market rose by 3% in February 2017, to approximately 1,954. Though metrics from the San Antonio Board of Realtors continued on their upward trajectory, the jump was lower than in prior years. Home sales increased by 14% and 10% in 2015 and 2016, respectively.
The median sales price, however, did reach a milestone, climbing above $200,000 for the first time. The median sales price is $201,500, compared to $190,800 reported in February 2016. SABOR indicated that the majority of homes in the region are still priced below $200,000, making up approximately 49.5% of the city’s sales.
“Though prices here have grown, the increases are steady and sustainable unlike many other large cities in the country,” said SABOR Chair Michele Bunting Ross.
