An April 2018 report from the National Apartment Association pointed out that the Houston area ranked third among metro areas for job openings in the apartment industry. The Bayou City and surrounding areas posted 177 job openings, making up 47% of overall real estate jobs. In Denver, 49% of total real estate jobs involved the apartment sector, while Nashville was on top, at 55%.
Houston topped the NAA’s list when it came to how long it took to fill the jobs (36.7 days, on average).
NAA Research analyzed data from market analytics firm Burning Glass to determine the number of apartment job postings, then compared the metric to the number of postings across the real estate sector. The broader sector included jobs in office, industrial, retail, single-family, self-storage and real estate listings services.
