Howard Gilman Foundation Acquires Harbor Group Office Condo

The Howard Gilman Foundation, which supports performing arts in New York, has acquired an office condominium at Harbor Group International’s 24 W. 40th St. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. The foundation will move into the 5,300-square-foot space in late 2019.

A forthcoming lease expiration provided the foundation with a clear opportunity to think strategically about its office environment and location, and the organization engaged Denham Wolf to identify and evaluate real estate options. Eight blocks south of the foundation’s former offices at 1 Rockefeller Plaza, the condo purchase will expand the size of its office space.

“The Howard Gilman Foundation has done so much for this city and its artists,” said Paul Wolf, co-president of Denham Wolf. “We are proud to have helped the foundation determine the right space from which to provide its invaluable support to New York’s artistic institutions.”
