Hudson Pacific’s Hollywood Tower Approved

Los Angeles-based Hudson Pacific Properties can now move forward on a new office tower on a 1.55-acre site at 5901 Sunset Blvd. The L.A. City Council unanimously approved a 15-story building, totaling 274,000 square feet and 26,000 square feet of ground-level retail.

The development was scaled down from 18 stories and seven levels of above-grade parking. The site is located adjacent to Sunset Bronson Studios, where Hudson Pacific is building Icon as Netflix’s HQ.

The new tower was designed by Gensler and follows a similar architectural theme. 5901 Sunset will feature a cascading series of terraces and an exterior that will include concrete, wood and metal panels. The project is expected to start construction early next year.
