McCombs Properties, developer of Palmilla Beach Resort & Golf Community on Mustang Island in Port Aransas, TX, unveiled plans to substantially improve its golf amenity. Improvements will focus on improving the original driving range, and adding a new nine-hole course, while redeveloping a portion of land into “The PlayGround at Palmilla Beach.”
“Last August (2017), Hurricane Harvey took a heavy toll on the golf course, effectively destroying the greens and irrigation systems,” said McCombs Properties’ Harry Adams. He went on to say that, rather than rebuilding, it was opted to substantially improve the course and other amenities.
The PlayGround at Palmilla Beach will include a putting course, a short course, an events lawn, space for food and beverage services, and a playground for children. Construction is already underway on the project, with the nine-hole course scheduled to open in spring 2019, and PlayGround at Palmilla Beach scheduled for a fall 2019 opening.
