Infill MXU Proposed in Oakland

Oakland, CA-based Ellwood Commercial Real Estate proposed a mixed-use residential development near Lake Merritt in Oakland’s Lakeshore-Adams Point area. The plans for 500 Grand Ave. are moving through the city approval process, and would be developed under a 24-month construction timeline, once approved.

The two-parcel site currently holds a parking lot and two-story building, which would be demolished. A six-story building would go north in its place. Nearly 3,000 square feet of retail is slated for the ground floor, along with a lobby, building services and 47-space parking garage. The five residential floors would offer 40 apartments, configured as one or two bedrooms, ranging from 710 square feet-1,273 square feet.

Other planned amenities include a roof deck, podium-level open-air courtyard, and ground-floor bike storage.
