Seattle area non-profit affordable housing developer Mt. Baker Housing acquired a two-parcel development site in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood for $5.5 million from Intracorp. Located at 4215 S. Trenton St., near the Rainier Beach Light Rail Station, the more than 1.25-acre site is slated for affordable housing and will include 236 apartment homes, targeting low- to middle-income earners and working families earning about 60% of Area Median Income.

Mt. Baker Housing’s Mike Rooney says, “It has become increasingly challenging to locate larger sites in close proximity to light rail stations that allow for transit-oriented developments of more than 200 units. This location in Rainier Beach perfectly fit that bill — and we look forward to building a vibrant and welcoming community that serves both working families and individuals.”

Windermere’s Tony Ferrelli represented the buyer. Colliers International’s Dan Chann and Tim Mckay represented the seller. The Seattle Office of Housing and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission provided acquisition financing.
