Pasadena, CA-based Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. confirmed it is relocating its corporate HQ to Texas. To entice the design and engineering firm to move to Dallas, the city offered a $277,500 grant, which must still be approved by its economic development committee later this month.
A company spokesperson says “a portion of its corporate functions” are being considered for relocation later this year. That’s provided the real estate process and final approvals on the economic development incentives go as planned.
Jacobs’ Pasadena office is not expected to be completely shuttered, with an undetermined number of staff and operations remaining. It would not be the first company pried away from SoCal to Texas. If the move transpires, Jacobs would join Toyota Motor Corp.’s North American division and Farmer Bros.
