Kaiser, Target Expand “Hyperconvenient” Retail Clinics

Register for Connect Healthcare on November 8th at the Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa

A collaboration between Kaiser Permanente and Target will result in 31 store-based clinics opening across SoCal closer to where people live. A three-month pilot program tested four such retail clinics in Fullerton, Fontana, San Diego and Vista. The next four locations will open in Irvine, Hemet, Chula Vista and Santee in November.

The new Permanente-staffed facilities, which will open over the next three years, will have licensed nurse practitioners and licensed vocational nurses. They will handle such ailments as earaches, blood pressure checks or vaccinations.

The retail clinics, which will increase Kaiser Permanente’s SoCal footprint by 20%, are targeting consumers who desire the “hyperconvenience” of primary care medical services.
