A global audience tuned in this week for a virtual unveiling of Netflix’s new 600,000-square-foot mixed-use, creative urban campus in Hollywood. The 25-minute program was produced by Netflix On Vine’s owner/developer, Kilroy Realty Corporation, to coincide with completion of construction on the 3.5-acre full city block.
The virtual 25-minute broadcast explored the intersection of art and architecture at Netflix On Vine while unveiling one of Hollywood’s largest and most captivating pieces of public art, titled SPECTRUM. The glittering work of hand-crafted kinetic art spans 65 feet by 17 feet, rises five-stories tall and is made up of 39,000 powder coated stainless steel sequins.
The campus includes a 260-seat theater, which will primarily be used by Netflix’s marketing, events and publicity teams, and for the first time within its portfolio, Netflix will also have a full-service kitchen. Tenant improvement work is underway and expected to be completed within the first half of 2021.
