Atlanta-based Columbia Property Trust, Inc. signed an 86,225-square-foot HQ lease with Affirm at 650 California Street in San Francisco. The financial technology company plans to occupy floors eight through 12 at the 477,000-square-foot office asset, as well as the annex of the building, when it relocates from 633 Folsom Street in August 2017.
Columbia’s completed nearly 200,000 square feet of leasing activity at the 33-story Financial District tower over the past 10 months, including a recent 60,576-square-foot deal with WeWork. The asset is now 89% leased, up from 65% at the end of June 2016.
Columbia’s Nelson Mills said, “The continued leasing momentum at 650 California is a validation of the value creation opportunity we saw when we acquired the building in late 2014.”
Custom Spaces Commercial Real Estate’s Jenny Haeg and Nathan Zoucha represented the tenant. Cushman & Wakefield’s Zach Siegel, JD Lumpkin and Sam Wasserstein represented the landlord.
