Austin-based Legend Communities and Tiki Time LLC said they plan to develop Tiki Island Residences and Boathouse Resort near Galveston. The six-acre project on Tiki Island will include 75 residential condominiums, a yacht club and a boathouse.
“This is a highly desirable location because The Village of Tiki Island does not allow any vacation rentals on the island, preserving the integrity of the property and making it the premier place to live and call home,” said Ron Cooper, owner of Tiki Time.
The developers said they’re in the process of finalizing the site plan and conceptual design for the new development. They expect to break ground on phase one of the project later this year, with the residential component breaking ground in the summer of 2021.
For Legend Communities, Tiki Island residences will be the second project in the Galveston area. The firm previously developed HarborWalk, a 500-acre master-planned community.
