The LOT Theater Complex Opens at Liberty Station

The LOT, a 26,000-square-foot upscale movie theater complex and dining venue, opened at Liberty Station in Point Loma, CA. A $12 million addition to the mixed-use community under development by San Diego-based Corky McMillin Companies, The LOT blends the 1940’s era Luce Auditorium with a new glass-enclosed lounge, bar and restaurant.

The new LOT complex is part of a 100-acre emerging arts and culture district in the former Naval Training Center. The existing 2,200-seat auditorium, vacant for 19 years, was re-envisioned as a multiplex with six theaters, ranging in size from 49 to 105 seats.

The historic building is separated from the covered patio dining area by an arch-covered, glass-walled promenade, creating an indoor-outdoor space. Historic elements were worked into the new theater’s lobby, including original oak flooring and a concrete archway.
