Louisville Company Buys Downtown Building to Expand

Solid Light Inc. acquired a 55,000-square-foot building at 804 S. Fifth St. in a $1.7 million transaction. The facility will consolidate the company’s 29-person workforce. The seller was the Theobold family.

Solid Light, a multimedia company, has an office is at 438 S. Third St., while a fabrication shop is in Bluegrass Commerce Park in Jeffersontown, KY. Before the sale, the building was occupied by CED Industrial Solutions which, in turn, relocated to 2900 Blankenbaker Pkwy.

The new owner plans to spend between $1 million-$1.5 million on renovations. The relocation will take place in spring 2017.

Phillip Scherer and E.P. Scherer of Cushman & Wakefield/Commercial Kentucky represented Solid Light in the transaction. Larry Williams, of Stephen G. Gault Co., represented the seller.
