Lowe Enterprises Completes DTLA Arts District Development

Los Angeles-based Lowe Enterprises opened The Garey Bldg., a 320-unit apartment community developed on a 2.9-acre site in the burgeoning DTLA Arts District. The transit-oriented project is a joint-venture between Lowe Enterprises, Megatoys and institutional investors advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management.

The Garey Bldg. offers real connectivity to the neighborhood. The centerpiece is an inviting 50-foot-wide pedestrian paseo, flanked by two five-story buildings, that will be lined with 15,800 square feet of shops and restaurants, outdoor dining and seating areas, as well as space for community programs.

Lowe Enterprises’ Tom Wulf says, “The location, within an established and active community, allowed us to use our urban mixed-use experience to enhance the neighborhood and bring much needed housing and amenities to the Arts District.”
