Arcadia, CA-based Kam Sang Co. plans to build a five-star resort hotel on a vacant ocean-view property in Carlsbad, CA’s 50-acre Ponto Beachfront Village area. The 14-acre project includes plans for 267 rooms, 46 time-shares, and a three-level parking structure with 820 spaces.
Among the potential operators of the hotel include such luxury brands as Ritz-Carlton and Waldorf Astoria. The developer plans to submit a formal application early next year.
Situated along historic Highway 101, just north of Encinitas and the Batiquitos Lagoon, the site is considered a southern gateway into Carlsbad.
Included among the amenities are a 10,000-square-foot ballroom, two swimming pools and three outdoor lawns for events. The majority of the site will be landscaped, natural open space with public hiking trails.
