Luxury student housing on major college campuses is a reality that more and more students are taking advantage of.
Developers are building more luxurious housing because of student demand for increasing amenities such as Wi-Fi, fitness center, common spaces, large screen televisions, and swimming pools. Take, for example, “The Standard,” in Athens, Ga., which shares its name with the luxury/hip hotel brand that has locations in Los Angeles, New York City and other major metro areas.
Landmark Properties is building ‘The Standard’ on the campus of the University of Georgia because of strong student demand, and the company reportedly has many more such structures in the pipeline. Growing enrollments and the aging of on-campus residences are reasons cited for this new popularity of luxurious student housing.
