Mack-Cali Rescues Freedom and Fireworks

Mack-Cali Realty Corp. came to the rescue on July Fourth by hosting part of the annual Freedom & Fireworks Festival celebration at its properties on the Hudson River waterfront in Jersey City, NJ.

“We are more than happy to help in this community effort to save the Freedom & Fireworks Festival,” said Michael DeMarco, chief executive officer for Mack-Cali.

People usually enjoy the fireworks in nearby Liberty State Park. But the park was closed because of a state government shutdown. Elected officials were unable to agree on the state budget before the holiday weekend.

The event included carnival rides, more than 20 food trucks, and live entertainment including Jersey City’s Kool & The Gang. Mack-Cali’s Lutze Biergarten was also open with a $10 dollar admission fee, which Mack-Cali will match and make a donation benefitting Jersey City veterans groups.
