A $1.5-billion mixed-used project, called Brooklyn Basin, is now under construction, with infrastructure work having started. The development will include 3,100 residential units, 200,000 square feet of retail and is on the southern part of the city’s waterfront.
Signature Development Group and China-based financial partner Zarsion Holdings are building the scheme. Residential units will begin construction during next year’s second quarter, and occupancy is expected for the following year.
The project is part of several major developments underway currently in Oakland.
