Makers Quarter’s First Retailer: A Craft Brewer

The first retail tenant to join San Diego’s Makers Quarter will be 10 Barrel Brewing Company. The Northwest-originated brewer is opening a 10,450-square-foot, single-story, adaptive reuse building at the corner of 15th and E Streets. It is the brewery’s first location in California.

The multi-block Makers Quarter neighborhood is distinguished by its creative ethos, local artists and makers. A new craft brew destination at 1501 E St. is expected to help create a neighborhood hangout in the burgeoning innovation and tech hub.

The master developer is L2HP, a partnership between Lankford & Associates, HP Investors and Hensel Phelps. Makers Quarter is planned to include one million square feet of office, roughly 800 residential units, and 175,000 square feet of retail shops and restaurants.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Jay Holland represented the tenant. Flocke & Avoyer’s Michael Burton and Cushman & Wakefield’s Bruce Schiff represented the landlord.
