Mark Goodman Unveils Plans for Largest “Passive House” Office in U.S.

Mark Goodman & Associates has revealed plans for the largest office building in the U.S to receive Passive House certification. The 12-story structure at 310 N. Sangamon, near Google’s Midwest headquarters, will offer 268,000 square feet of space.

“The Fulton Market’s business landscape is fast becoming a dynamic haven for entrepreneurial and creative industries, and we’re incredibly proud to lead the way in low-energy buildings that promise to become the next generation in office design of the future,” said Mark Goodman, president of the firm bearing his name.

Passive House buildings follow a rigorous set of design principles to create an air-tight structure, with the goal of keeping the indoor temperature consistent every day of the year, regardless of weather. “There is definitely something to be said for having an office at the same steady comfortable temperature every day, especially in Chicago where the weather is constantly changing,” Goodman said.
