Mattel to Grow HQ by 445K SF

Mattel, Inc. is preparing to expand its El Segundo, CA headquarters. The toy manufacturer wants to add 445,000 square feet at its 12.5-acre campus.

The planned full build-out of the campus would include a 14-story office tower for design and development functions at 455 Continental Blvd., an adjoining 8-story parking garage, and a 6-story, 174,000-square-foot office building that will replace an existing 57,000-square-foot building at 1955 Grand Ave.

The proposed additions, along with existing buildings at the site, would result in an overall FAR of 1.6. A larger master plan previously pursued by Mattel sought to expand the HQ campus, though was not fully realized.
