The Denver area’s loss will be Chicago’s gain, in terms of corporate headquarters. MillerCoors, which is rebranding as Molson Coors effective Jan. 1, will close its Denver office and relocate its North American base to the Loop, where it already has a presence at 250 S. Wacker Dr.
The square footage of the new Chicago headquarters space isn’t yet clear. The move is part of a plan announced Wednesday by new CEO Gavin Hattersley that will also see Molson Coors consolidate four business units into two and eliminate 400-plus corporate jobs.
“Our business is at an inflection point,” Hattersley said. “We can continue down the path we’ve been on for several years now, or we can make the significant and difficult changes necessary to get back on the right track.”
Molson Coors said savings will be funneled into investments behind its brands, further expansions beyond beer and new digital capabilities.
