Northwest-based Kirkwood & Kirkwood continued to execute its expansion strategy with the opening of its fourth Big Al’s location, a 45,850-square-foot sports bar and entertainment destination at Piemonte at Ontario Center in Ontario, CA. The site is smaller than its others, which range upwards of 70,000 square feet, but could be a viable option for developers needing to back-fill space vacated by big box retailers.

The SoCal facility shows how the model “scales-down.” Daniel Kirkwood, whose family-owned company owns and operates Big Al’s, says, “More important to developers and landlords, we took a plain, vanilla, former Best Buy box, and turned it into something spectacular.”

Big Al’s, located at 4120 E. 4th St., blends an impressive array of recreation and entertainment options into a contemporary sports bar and grill. The experience is designed to appeal to Millennials, young professionals and Gen-Xers.
