New Hotel Proposed Near Santana Row

VillaDevelopers Inc. proposed an 11-story hotel on a half-acre site at 2850 Stevens Creek, near Santana Row in San Jose. Plans filed with the city detail 173 guest rooms and a rooftop restaurant with a balcony overlooking the town’s burgeoning retail area.

The hotel is in the early stages of city planning and approvals, but the developer hopes to start construction next year. A brand hasn’t yet been named for the new hotel, but Hilton’s new Canopy brand and Choice Hotels’ Cambria are reportedly among the top choices.

Activity in the Santana Row/Valley Fair neighborhood includes Westfield’s $600-million expansion to Valley Fair, and Federal Realty Investment Trust’s expansion of office space at Santana Row and nearby.
