Newark Housing Authority Seeks Developer Partners

The Newark Housing Authority (NHA) has issued a request for qualifications and proposals (RFQ/P) from private development firms to partner with the authority. The partnership between NHA and the selected firms will develop five sites across the city ranging from affordable housing to market rate and commercial development.

“The RFQ/P represents an opportunity for NHA to partner with major developers in an effort to both leverage and monetize its assets,” said NHA’s Morris Warner. “These projects intend to generate operating income that can be reinvested to produce mixed-income and mixed-use communities within the City of Newark.”

Deadline for RFP/Q submissions is July 10. The Housing Authority will soon be issuing additional RFQs for Seth Boyden and Terrell Homes, both located in Opportunity Zones within Newark.
