For Accelerate Built Environments, operations manager Andrew Martinez leads a team of project managers and designers that integrate high-tech construction solutions into high-performance office, healthcare, and education environments. He works directly with the clients, their architecture and design teams, and construction trades to produce successful projects.
The results have included office space for Fortune 100 companies such as Discover and Caterpillar, and one of Chicago’s first immediate care clinics to use pre-fab construction methods for a major hospital system and learning environments at the University of Chicago. He’s known for handling a fast-paced, high-stress construction environment with poise and grace, and is relentless in finding solutions that are in the best interests of both the company and its customers. He leads his team by example.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Martinez to be one of the Chicago 2019 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s third annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
The 27-year-old Martinez leverages his engineering background and technical knowledge to clearly communicate and articulate the value of technology-driven construction to clients and their project teams. In an industry with a reputation for being slow to change and try new ideas, Andrew communicates effectively with everyone from a CFO of a large corporation handling a project for his firm, to an onsite superintendent.
