Jessica Verdi came to Colliers International two years ago as part of its highly competitive training program. Fifty percent of her cohort has already left, while Verdi has thrived.
Just 24, Verdi has already excelled at generating business and at developing strong relationships, earning clients’ trust with hard work and commitment. The firm has rewarded her potential by putting her into a select business development group with senior members of the firm. “Jessica has a terrific work ethic and a positive attitude in a business that requires tremendous persistence,” says Colliers tri-state president Michael Cohen.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Verdi to be one of the New York 2019 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s third annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
Notably, Verdi now serves on Manhattan’s Community Board 5, after considering many different ways to add a meaningful, civic or charitable responsibility to her already busy schedule. She reasoned that community board membership would give her an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on her environment and collaborate as a peer with a new group of seasoned professionals from a variety of industries. “At an early age, she will gain a unique perspective on the issues facing the city and its politicians,” says Cohen.
