NTT Ltd.’s Global Data Centers division in the Americas plans to build a new Pacific Northwest data center campus on 47 acres in Hillsboro, OR. The data center and technology services provider plans to offer 144 megawatts of critical IT load at the new five-building, one-million-square-foot campus at 4050 NE Evergreen Rd.
The property is key strategic addition to NTT’s portfolio of more than 160 data centers, and housed a former SolarWorld facility, which NTT purchased from SunPower for $63.5 million last year. The first six megawatts of critical IT load are expected to be available in mid-2020.
NTT’s Doug Adams says, “Connectivity to Asia through subsea cables, significant tax advantages, and low operational costs, all make Hillsboro a strategic game-changer for companies looking for a data center location that will positively impact their bottom line.”
The data centers will be designed with customizable high-density vaults, in order to support both single-user and colocation requirements of hyperscale cloud and enterprise users.
