Online Insurer Moves from Shared Offices to 55 W. Monroe

CBRE recently represented Kin Insurance in a 20,761-square-foot sublease at John Hancock’s 55 W. Monroe, where the insurance startup will establish its first Chicago headquarters. The firm is subletting from Snapsheet, a tech-based insurance claims provider.

Kin Insurance, which provides online quotes for homeowners insurance, relocated from a shared office where it had three offices across 3,000 square feet in two separate buildings. Due to recent rapid growth, the firm sought out opportunities to expand its footprint and establish a new headquarters.

“This is a great move for Kin Insurance and it will allow the firm to expand at its desired pace, while directing more resources to important operations,” said CBRE’s Brad Serot, who represented the subtenant with CBRE colleague Tony Coglianese.

“A shared-office solution made sense for the firm as it scaled, but now a traditional office setting will give the firm better options for long-term growth,” he added.
