Philly’s SugarHouse Casino Will Rebrand After Upgrades

Rush Street Gaming will rebrand SugarHouse Casino, Philadelphia’s first licensed casino, later this year after a series of property upgrades. Among other things, the new name, Rivers Casino Philadelphia, will enable regional and national marketing to promote one Rivers Casino brand across multiple markets and channels.

The company owns three other properties branded as Rivers Casino, located in Pittsburgh, the Chicago suburb of Des Plaines, IL and Schenectady, NY.

“Keeping pace with the changing landscape has been paramount to our success,” said Rush Street CEO Greg Carlin, whose company opened SugarHouse in 2010. “Creating a unified brand is another example of how we’re anticipating and responding to the competitive market for gaming.”

Among the planned upgrades are a new permanent sportsbook, a new signature restaurant and an online casino experience that complements the brick-and-mortar operations. The additions follow a $164-million expansion of SugarHouse in 2016.
