Pizza Press Relocates Flagship Pizzeria, Seeks to Add 300 More

Anaheim, CA-based Pizza Press has set its eyes on expanding nationally to 300 restaurants in the next three years. The newspaper-themed pizzeria opened its first location across the street from Disneyland in Anaheim in June 2012.

Pizza Press was forced to relocate its flagship location at 1534 S. Harbor Blvd. when a new parking structure was planned for the theme park. A new, 2,700-square-foot restaurant is slated to open March 24, 2017 at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel & Suites, a couple of blocks away on Harbor.

The build-your-own pizza chain operates nine locations now, and has another 30 in the pipeline this year, including sites in Huntington Beach, Whittier, Tustin, Belmont Shore, Newport Beach, Santa Monica, Buena Park, Chino Hills and Irvine.

Founder Dara Maleki’s national expansion strategy focuses on regions of the country less saturated with build-your-own pizza category competitors, such as Pieology and Blaze Pizza.
