Pop-Up Hotel Planned for West Midtown’s Star Metals Project

Developer of West Midtown’s Star Metals project, The Allen Morris Co., submitted an application in Atlanta to allow for temporary hotel use at Star Metals Residences, a 409-unit apartment community at the development.

The developer plans to bring pop-up hotel concept WhyHotel to the project, while the apartment community leases up. Up to 120 apartments could be converted to hotel rooms for 36 months as part of the plan.

“We are building a business that solves real estate inefficiencies, but ultimately, WhyHotel enables us to host people in better places by blurring the line between hospitality and home,” the company’s website states. “Today, where you see cranes in the sky and empty buildings, we see opportunity for communities.”
