The Port of Long Beach had a record-setting quarter after September, due to increased cargo volumes, according to the facility’s officials. Year-over-year cargo volume rose 4.1 percent, which was the best September it ever experienced.
The quarter was even better, with cargo volume increasing 14.8 percent at the Port of Long Beach. A large part of the increase was due to retailers increasing their stock in the United States, including items for the holidays and Halloween.
The third quarter saw a 10.6-percent increase in imports and a 10.5-percent year-on-year rise in exports, according to port officials.
