Port San Antonio’s board of directors approved construction of Project Tech Building 2, a five-story, 174,000-square-foot office building on the 1,900-acre technology campus on San Antonio’s southwest side. The $50-million building will be situated on 16 acres at General Hudnell and General McMullen Drives. Beaty Palmer Architects is the architect of record.
Groundbreaking will take place in October 2019, with completion anticipated by early 2021. The development follows Project Tech Building 1, which delivered in 2018. Project Tech Building 1 and the adjacent Roberson Building house information security operations that include customers Northrop Grumman, Booz Allen Hamilton, CACI, CNF Technologies, Lockheed Martin Cyber Solutions, Radiance Technologies and Salient CRGT.
Even as Port San Antonio launches its new tech building, it is continuing to plan for an innovation center, which will include a state-of-the-art facility, conference venue and showroom to demonstrate cyber and other technologies developed by Port customers.
